StreetSafe Bridgeport brings new hope, promise, and movement to our most at-risk youth. Gang/group violence and gun violence is far too prevalent amongst our city’s youth and now is the time to create movement and change so that the violence can end.

Who We Are

StreetSafe Bridgeport is a street-based, non-law enforcement program. It focuses on reducing youth violence, including group/gang and gun crime in the city. We work within six neighborhoods affected by poverty, substance misuse, crime, and blight. Our Outreach Workers grew up in Bridgeport. They have first-hand experience with the insidious problems facing our youth today. These highly-trained individuals help interrupt conflict and the cycle of youth violence. Our workers provide mentorship to at-risk youth.  StreetSafe’s goal is to keep Bridgeport’s residents safe, allow our young people to thrive, and help our returning citizens.
